That’s cool I think it’s the astronomer in me but using lights at night just makes me hiss and wail about my dark adaptation I’ll stick to offing up my head the to midges
This pool is a few metres from a main road, 20 metres from a huge Tesco Extra, and so close to Birmingham the sky always glows red. So dark adaptation isn’t a thing for me 😉
Happy birthday! I enjoyed hearing the bats in your video. We get lots in our garden but I don't think I've ever heard them like that before. I think I've just assumed it was their wings.

You need a detector to hear the echolocation call like that, I use to be able to hear the social calls but I finally succumbed to being old

Actually I have a bone to pick with you because why are the bats the last chapter? Is this a ploy to make sure I read the whole book?
It’s because they were the last to evolve flight and the book is in chronological order of evolution. Nothing personal.
